Mission

The Forever Wild Foundation is here to provide a multitude of year-round services to help keep recreation and tourism a positive experience of the southern Adirondacks. Hiking trails, snowmobile trails, riverways, and lakes kept clear, safe & free of garbage/debris. We have a centrilized location for the storage of materials needed in order to keep our state park clean in an accessible location for volunteers wanting to help in the elimination of negative impacts brought to the area by our sudden influx of visitors. Road side clean up events, River cleaning projects, beaver dam removal, repairs or upgrades to roadside areas or hiking trails.

We are also a fully licensed wildlife rehab. While in the beginning phases of building a proper rehab area on site, we are still able to respond to calls, provide education remotely on how to help an injured animal, and are here to help with transports. The new rehabilitation location is currently in a build phase and will be coming soon!

Vision

The Forever Wild is an amazing place to explore, recreate, and coexist with nature. Riverways, trails, roadways & lakes are our paths to do what we love in the back country.. As the "heart" of the Adirondacks and more populated areas are reaching their maximum threshold, the "Soul" of the Adirondacks are also seeing an influx of visitors. The vast areas that are available for all to explore will start seeing some negative impacts if areas are not maintained properly. Eventually our goals are to centralize resources for a large group of volunteers willing to get out there and make a difference to help may access the wilderness areas. We would like to provide many educational resources, events, and materials to spread the word on how to do so. Everyone deserves a clean, accessible and safe experience while visiting the Southern Adirondacks.

While there are no Wildlife Rehabilitation locations in our area, we have a large number of wildlife needing quick access to the help they need. Most from injuries sustained from people not properly coexisting. In attempt to reduce incidents we will hand out literature on how to coexist, and we also will be here to provide some support on how to handle injured or abandoned little ones remotely. The Forever Wild Foundation is in the process of providing the shelter for a rehabilitation location in the near future.
